Plymouth University, in association with property developer Peaston Ltd, has purchased the Royal Naval Engineering College, Manadon, at a cost rumoured to be about Pounds 30 million. The university plans to use the site to provide teaching, workshop and library accommodation for 2,000 engineering students and associated staff who will transfer from the main site. Residential accommodation for 500 students is also planned.
