A first-year information technology student at Portsmouth University has died from meningitis, the fifth student this academic year. Edward Kitchin, 19, died at his lodgings on Monday. Other students in the house have been given precautionary medical treatment. The death comes shortly after three people died in an outbreak at Southampton University. ALeicester University student has also died.
