Leicester conclave plots invasion of Mars

European scientists are meeting this week to start planning a space mission to Mars in 2003 in search of former life. Teams from Italy, France, Germany and Russia are meeting at Leicester University to begin designing a lander module which could place instruments on the surface of the red planet.
