US uncovers voting errors
Faulty equipment, mismarked ballots and absentee voting errors were among the reasons for the failure of between 4 million and 6 million Americans to cast valid votes in last year's presidential election, according to a study by the California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

South Africa loses 26 per cent of doctors
At least 26 per cent of South African doctors who graduated between 1990 and 1997 have left the country, according to the South African Medical Association.
