The Malaysian government agency responsible for preparing and sponsoring higher education students has asked for M$582 million (Pounds 92.3 million) from the country's entrepreneur development ministry to sponsor students' studies this year. The agency said M$143 million would be for new students. It will sponsor 16,585 students this year, but only 200 will be going overseas.
