Oxford University researchers have published interviews with friends and family of intensive care patients on the health website DIPEx.org. Some 38 people describe their experiences of a loved one's treatment, including how they were told of the illness or accident, and what it was like waiting for updates from doctors.

Suman Prinjha, who carried out the interviews, said she hoped the site would be useful for carers and patients as well as health professionals.
