Hefce improves first degree job indicators

Institutions are to collect information for a new employability indicator, due for publication in March 2001.

All home full-time students graduating with a first degree into the job market will be monitored as part of the Higher Education Funding Council for England's drive to improve the information available on employment rates.

The Higher Education Statistics Agency has tightened up the guidelines of its First Destinations Survey 2000 in preparation for the new performance indicator.
