Gender equality has not changed over the past ten years, a group of researchers at Manchester University have found. Francesca Gains, Claire Annesley and Kirstein Rummery claim in their book, New Labour: Towards an Engendered Politics and Policy , that although more women are employed they earn only 87 per cent of men's full-time hourly pay.
