Students have been recognised for their outstanding work in the voluntary sector and the workplace. As part of Edge Hill University's 125th anniversary celebrations, its careers centre hosted an awards night to acknowledge the contribution that students make to society either by volunteering or through paid employment. The Volunteer of the Year Award went to Jack Purcell, a first-year student on the BSc science, secondary education course, who was chosen for his work supporting children and young people in Halewood parish.
