DFEE report details progress

The government's second annual Department for Education and Employment report came out this week with details of progress towards a learning society. It outlines higher education spending for 1999 to 2001 and shows how fees and abolition of grants will have saved an estimated Pounds 1.2 billion between 1997-98 and 2000-01.
