IN RESPONSE to your article on course advertising by German universities, in particular the TU Dresden, where the introduction of bachelor's degrees by TU Dresden from next semester is described as its latest coup (THES, August 8).

While in Mannheim, one of the traditional west German university towns, recently, I read in the local paper that the TU Mannheim was likewise introducing bachelor's degrees from next semester.

It therefore seems that TU Dresden is not alone in introducing bachelor's.
