Colleges raise status

Three more higher education colleges have been granted university status by the Privy Council.

Southampton Institute will now call itself Southampton Solent University and Canterbury Christ Church University College will become Canterbury Christ Church University on August 1. University College Northampton has been awarded university status but is still to confirm its proposed title of Northampton University.
