The Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Department for Education and Skills have confirmed that an additional £40 million will be allocated in 2006-07 and 2007-08 for part-time students from poor backgrounds.
Distribution of the additional money will be outlined as part of the Hefce recurrent grant announcement in March 2006.
