The Universities and Colleges' Employers Association, in conjunction with the seven campus trade unions, has produced a report on employment negotiations. It found that three out of five institutions reported that a formal "partnership" approach to negotiations between staff and management "contributed to a speedier and more satisfactory outcome to local discussions than would have been the case with a more traditional style of collective bargaining".
