Birmingham City University - £130m for creative arts campus

A new campus of 37,000 sq m is being planned for Birmingham City University. David Tidmarsh, the vice-chancellor, said: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a very special campus location focused on creative arts, performing arts, technology and design, construction and media. With an expected price tag of about £130 million, this is a very significant development for the university and is a major plank in achieving our plans to grow by 50 per cent over the next ten years." The proposals include a new Birmingham Conservatoire building and concert hall.
