THE Bioscience Innovation Centre in Cambridge is trying to raise Pounds 1 million on Ofex, the speculative share market, to build a business incubator for up to 12 start-up biotechnology companies. The centre will also receive Pounds 4.5 million from Scottish Life. Experts will select the start-up companies and provide them with advice and support. In exchange, the Bioscience Innovation Centre will have the option to take an equity stake in each company when it becomes publicly listed.
