Bell becomes Bradford vice chancellor

COLIN Bell, senior vice principal and professor of sociology at Edinburgh University, will succeed David Johns as vice chancellor of Bradford University next August. Professor Bell teaches advanced courses in race and ethnic relations and has recently been investigating links between education and industry for the Department for Education and Employment. He convenes the Committee of Scottish Higher Education Principals' quality assurance committee, and was a founder of the Scottish Quality Assurance Forum.
