Several Muslim organisations in Algeria have protested against a visit to Israel by University of Algiers academics. The lecturers and researchers were invited by colleagues at the University of Tel Aviv to a workshop on peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. Muslim fundamentalists labelled them traitors to the Palestinian cause.
