There is a difference between respecting points of view and pandering to ridiculous positions such as those taken by anti-vaccine campaigners. Minority views that are dangerous to the majority should not be accommodated in this case since the need to get society functioning again is too important. We have had our own problems in the UK and as someone who was half-killed by measles as a child, we should not give the time of day to the conspiracies and other nonsense.
Sir, when I was a student at UK university in 1972 I had to be vaccinated against smallpox and then I was allowed to enter UK. It was mandatary. Rgds, be healthy, IL
In the 80s I had to be vaccinated against TB to be accepted at school. That was in Tunisia. No TB vaccination, no school. If a parent doesn't want to vaccinate their children, putting at risk everyone else, including the teachers, then they can homeschool their children instead. A student who doesn't want to get vaccinated can opt for online courses instead. There are options that do not put in danger the lives of others.
I would recommend the writer read a bit more about the medical consequences COVID-19 pandemic and lack of vaccination (or lack of any vaccinations) before he takes his position.
