I am glad to see this being said. There are already many places where one can watch excellent lectures and study online but the university experience is about more than that. To justify current fee levels, students must feel part of a community and learn to be independent with the confidence to take on new topics and challenges. In-person interaction is an essential element of this and fulfils a basic human need.
