If you are unwilling to listen to views with which you disagree, how can you engage in dialogue and challenge them? It's intellectual cowardice. The sort that hides behind shrill cries of 'racist!' or 'Islamophobic!' or 'homophobic!' or 'sexist!', the sort that is too lazy to present a counter-argument, to explain WHY they don't care for the views someone else is expressing. Academics, above all people, should do better than that when dealing with conflicting views.
